#1 FRATERNITY AMONG SOUTH ASIANS AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN HONG KONG
Social integration and cultivation of a common identity are the recurring themes of our program. The matching of Southeast Asians with HKU students, would be a major step in bridging the three social groups.
#2 CHINESE / CANTONESE INTERACTIVE LEARNING
Chinese Learning is the backbone of our programme. We focus on the reading skills and oral Cantonese of Southeast Asians through interactive learning. Through interactive activities, we wish to build up the confidence of our young Southeast Asians in the usage of Cantonese and Chinese reading, to enrich their Chinese vocabularies.
#3 HONG KONG EXPLORATION
We wish to bring our young Southeast Asians to explore more in their living place- Hong Kong, from a different perspective. Sense of unity can be cultivated by daily life experience and history exploration. We hope to present the young minds the brief historical discourse and the metamorphosis of our city.
#4 APPRECIATION OF CHINESE CULTURE
Chinese learning cannot be separated from the learning of Chinese culture. It would indeed be difficult for young immigrants from a different cultural/racial root to fully understand the Chinese customs from classrooms or from books. Local Tour enables young children to learn the Chinese culture “by doing” with fun!
SESAME
